About Implant Dentures
We offer implant-supported dentures at Everlasting Smile for our patients who want the best in full-mouth restorations. If you are getting denture for the first time or if you are so tired of dealing with high-maintenance, removable dentures, implant supported dentures may be the best solution our general and cosmetic dentist, Dr. Andrew Reingold, can provide. Our implant-supported dentures are carefully crafted for a comfortable fit and natural appearance, along with careful gum preparations (now the "gold standard" in dental restorations).
Implant-supported dentures are more secure in their placement than removable dentures as 4 – 6 implant are surgically anchored (via titanium posts) into your upper and/or lower arch. Once the implants have healed and integrated into the jawbone, Dr. Reingold will attach a high-quality custom denture made by our preferred denture laboratory for a long-lasting solution. What to Expect
To ensure the implant-supported dentures fit securely and naturally, the dentist will use digital X-rays, CT scans, and/or physical impressions of your mouth that will be sent to the implantology lab. Wit the patient under general or local anesthesia, the dentist will surgically implant the anchors in the upper and/or lower jawbone. You will be given temporary dentures to wear as your permanent dentures are being made and your implants integrate into the bone. Once the implants are secure, the dentist will attach the permanent dentures to the implants and adjust for a comfortable fit.
Treatment Aftercare
Once the permanent dentures are in place, the patient will have check-ups over the next few weeks and months to perfect the fit of the dentures. Implant dentures should be cared for with daily brushing, flossing, and rinsing with mouthwash, just like natural teeth. You should continue to schedule professional cleanings and dental exams as recommended by your dentist. With proper care, implant dentures can last 5 – 10 years.
Anticipated Costs
Depending on your dental insurance carrier and specific policy, some of the cost of the implant dentures may be covered. Our office will work with your insurance company to determine your coverage and maximize your benefits before determining your costs. Our office accepts several payment options and we offer financing plans to make your dental care affordable.
